About the role Polymarket is looking for a world-class backend engineer to join our platform engineering team as we scale. You will play a key role in building and maintaining the foundation that powers our prediction markets, ensuring reliability and efficiency as we continue to grow. ### What you’ll do We're looking for an experienced individual contributor who enjoys working on deeply technical problems and optimizing mission-critical infrastructure. Architect & build backend systems. You'll design, implement, and maintain high-performance backend services and APIs that handle large-scale transactions and real-time data. Optimize performance & scalability. You’ll push the limits of our system’s throughput and efficiency, ensuring seamless operation at scale. Enhance security & reliability. You’ll implement best practices for secure, fault-tolerant, and highly available distributed systems. Cross-company collaboration. You’ll collaborate with front-end engineers, designers, and stakeholders across the company to deliver a fully integrated user experience. Contribute to code reviews.
