### Summary

Pacific Seafood is looking for a Director of Human Resources who sees the business through its people and can help senior leaders do the same. This is a trusted partner to the VP of Distribution: someone who listens closely, notices patterns early, asks clear questions, and helps leaders act with confidence and accountability.

You will work directly with the VP of Distribution’s direct reports and the leaders who report to them. Through thoughtful assessment, coaching, and follow-up, you will help each leader understand their strengths, address development needs, and lead more effectively. You will also help the VP of Distribution make sound decisions about organization structure, leadership capacity, workforce needs, and business performance.

This role is a strong fit for an experienced HR leader who combines high emotional intelligence with sound business judgment. You are comfortable building trust and speaking candidly, can connect workforce decisions to operating and financial results, and enjoy helping a leadership team become more effective together.

### Responsibilities

Partner with the VP of Distribution and strengthen the leadership team:

- Serve as the VP’s senior partner on people, leadership, and organizational matters, bringing perspective, discretion, and timely follow-through.
- Assess the VP’s direct reports and their direct reports. Identify strengths, performance or capability gaps, potential, and readiness for greater responsibility.
- Create practical development plans with clear actions, owners, timing, and regular progress reviews; coach leaders and follow up on commitments.
- Help leaders surface and address team and personnel concerns early, before they become larger operating issues.
Align organization and workforce with business priorities:

- Review business plans, financial results, workforce costs, turnover, productivity, and organizational risks with the VP and leadership team.
- Evaluate reporting relationships, role clarity, management layers, spans of control, workload, and succession depth; recommend changes that improve accountability and performance.
- Lead management-level workforce planning and succession planning for critical Distribution roles, including readiness, gaps, and development actions.
- Translate decisions into specific actions and measures, then stay with the work through completion.
Lead an HR team that delivers for the business:

- Lead and align the Senior Human Resources Manager (Field Operations), Talent Acquisition Manager, and Training and Development Manager around the VP’s priorities and Distribution’s needs.
- Set clear outcomes across field HR operations, talent acquisition, and training and development while giving each function leader room to apply their expertise.
- Oversee team member relations, HR risk, compliance, compensation and benefits governance, and the quality of HR service across the operating company.
- Use workforce and HRIS data to identify trends and opportunities, and partner across sales, supply chain, and operations to support an integrated, end-to-end business.
### Skills

Required:

- Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources or a related field.
- 10 or more years of progressive HR leadership experience, including business partnership and management responsibility.
- Experience leading HR in a multi-state, multi-location organization.
- Demonstrated skill assessing and coaching senior leaders, building development and succession plans, and improving organization structure.
- Business and financial judgment, including the ability to interpret income statements and balance sheets and connect people decisions to cost, margin, productivity, and operating results.
- Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office and strong communication, facilitation, and analytical skills.
- High emotional intelligence, self-awareness, discretion, and the ability to build trust while giving direct, respectful feedback.
Preferred:

- Master’s degree in Human Resources or Business Administration.
- SHRM or HRCI certification.
- Experience in food distribution, manufacturing, food production, or a related operational environment.
