## Description (the employer's text)

### ABOUT THE ROLE

Help turn evolving aircraft designs into clear, traceable engineering data. You will support ERC’s aircraft development by improving how we define configurations, track mass and maintain the models used for aircraft sizing.

Working closely with our engineering teams, you will build practical tools and processes, establish clear data ownership and identify mass risks throughout preliminary design. Your work makes visible how mass and configuration evolve, who owns each input and how reliable the estimates are.

### WHAT YOU WILL DO

Develop consistent methods for collecting, reviewing and updating component and system masses, distinguishing estimates, supplier data and measured values

Help set up mass budgets for aircraft zones and systems, track allocations and margins, and flag deviations and emerging risks

Build tools that make mass status, changes and outstanding inputs easy to follow

Define data requirements, responsibilities and update routines together with system owners

Structure component, system and supplier data in engineering databases, documenting sources, assumptions and confidence levels

Review, update and validate the mass estimation and surrogate models used in sizing loops, including their uncertainty and limits of applicability

### WHAT YOU BRING

Current studies in aerospace, mechanical or systems engineering or a related discipline

A strong interest in aircraft design, mass estimation and how aircraft systems interact

Confidence with Python and spreadsheets, and an interest in building practical analysis tools

The ability to organise incomplete or evolving information and document assumptions clearly

A hands-on, proactive approach: you spot gaps, propose workable solutions and follow through

Independence within an agreed scope, combined with clear communication of progress

Attention to detail and the willingness to challenge inconsistent data or unsupported assumptions

Moreover, it would be helpful if you also

have worked with databases or regression analysis

know your way around Git

have used CAD mass properties or configuration management tools

### WHAT WE OFFER

Full-scale aerospace engineering, not concept slides

A 60+ engineer team at Ottobrunn

Real ownership and flat hierarchies: a modern startup culture where your input shapes decisions, not just execution

Flexible working hours, remote work, and competitive compensation

Health & wellbeing: EGYM Wellpass membership and subsidized lunch in our canteen

Office extras: espresso coffee, fresh fruit, and soft drinks, plus regular team and company events, and plenty more once you're on board
