## Description (the employer's text)

### About the role

We are looking for an autonomous (Senior) Data Science Consultant to join 7Learnings as our first hire in Malaysia. In this role, you will be the primary technical and client-facing counterpart for our client in Sydney (Australia), operating remotely from Malaysia while collaborating closely with our engineering and data science headquarters in Berlin.

This is not a traditional back-office data science role. You will bridge the gap between advanced predictive modeling, software engineering, and strategic client advisory. You will actively interact with senior retail stakeholders in Sydney on a regular basis—uncovering their business challenges, translating complex retail mechanics into mathematical models, and ensuring our AI-driven pricing and forecasting engine drives measurable business value.

As our dedicated data science resource in Sydney, you are the engine of 7Learnings’ regional presence. Our product relies on the perfect harmony between complex algorithms and stable software; you will be responsible for ensuring that our technical execution remains flawless, technical debt remains low, and model accuracy remains exceptionally high.

### Your mission

### Client Management & Advisory

Lead client syncs: Run recurring technical and strategic meetings with our Sydney retail clients as their trusted advisor.

Translate business needs: Turn commercial retail challenges (pricing, inventory, promotions) into concrete analytical solutions.

Communicate value: Present complex data science insights and business impact clearly to non-technical stakeholders.

### Advanced Data Science & Modeling

Predictive modeling: Build and refine ML models forecasting demand, sales volume, elasticity, and costs.

Code & pipeline quality: Develop robust, production-ready Python pipelines and algorithms with minimal technical debt.

Accuracy & monitoring: Track model performance and data stability across large-scale retail datasets.

### Technical Project Management & Delivery

End-to-end ownership: Deliver client milestones from initial scoping to production rollout.

Founding footprint: Establish operational standards and documentation as our first team member in Malaysia.

### Your profile

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Business Administration, Computer Science, Industrial Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related quantitative field.

A results-oriented, pragmatic mindset.

Hands-on experience in machine learning and data science.

Prior experience with Git, TensorFlow, Google Cloud Platform, SQL, or BigQuery.

Strong project management skills, with prior experience or a strong interest in e-commerce and the fashion industry.

Exceptional communication and stakeholder management abilities, with a proven track record of explaining technical concepts to non-technical audiences.

English: C1-C2 level.

You are located in Malaysia.

### What we offer?

- Flexible working hours
- 100% remote work
- 30 vacation days per year
- Culture of trust and regular, constructive feedback
- High degree of personal responsibility
