About the Role

As a Senior Research Analyst for Middle Distillates, you will own Kpler’s East of Suez diesel, gasoil, and jet/kerosene intelligence across the Middle East, India, China, Singapore, and the wider Asia-Pacific region. Operating at the center of global physical oil flows, you will connect regional supply dynamics to West of Suez balances through rigorous arbitrage and trade flow analysis. In this autonomous individual contributor role, your insights will set the regional editorial direction and deliver high-conviction analysis to guide commercial traders, refiners, and institutional investors worldwide.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive regional market analysis: Lead structured research across East of Suez middle distillates, integrating vessel movements, refinery runs, inventory shifts, and pricing signals into defensible market views.
  • Evaluate key supply mechanisms: Formulate comprehensive outlooks on Chinese export quota allocations, Middle Eastern and Indian export capacities, and regional margin dynamics across Singapore and South Korea.
  • Author high-impact publications: Write and publish regular market reports, thematic Insights, and trade recommendations with clear directional calls and evidence-anchored conclusions.
  • Assess geopolitics, policy, and infrastructure: Track refinery turnarounds, export duties, sanctions, and licensing policies to quantify their impact on regional balances and inter-basin trade flows.
  • Audit cargo flows and refinery yields: Cross-validate real-time vessel tracking data against physical refinery throughput and stock data to identify operational anomalies, yield variations, and re-export patterns.
  • Lead client and industry engagement: Deliver technical presentations at industry conferences, lead webinars, support commercial pre-sales efforts, and resolve complex client research inquiries.
  • Influence product innovation: Collaborate with Product and Engineering teams to address coverage gaps in East of Suez benchmarks and guide the enhancement of Kpler's data platforms.
