Our Mission

You call. You wait. You call again. In every other part of your life, you book in seconds. In healthcare, you’re blocked.

We’re here to give power to the patient.

For nearly 20 years, we’ve built the leading healthcare marketplace - helping tens of millions of people find and book the care they need. Now, we’re going further: building our infrastructure beyond Zocdoc’s marketplace to power access to care wherever patients search, from provider websites and insurance directories to search engines, AI platforms, and more.

Healthcare still lacks something every other major consumer industry takes for granted: a seamless way to go from seeking to getting. We don’t want to own the front door to care; there isn't one. We want to make sure all of those doors open when patients are knocking.

Fixing healthcare starts with fixing access to it. And we're still just getting started.

Your Impact on our Mission

Zocdoc is seeking a Staff Analytics Engineer to join a centralized team responsible for defining, creating, and maintaining a scalable and robust analytics layer that powers Zocdoc’s strategic analytics, operations, and reporting capabilities. As a Staff-level member, you'll lead the design and implementation of complex data transformations and production-grade data models, establishing standardized datasets that drive critical decision-making across the organization. Collaborating closely with Product Management, Product Engineering, Data Engineering, and Analytics teams, you'll ensure data solutions are strategically aligned, efficient, and consistently reliable, enabling teams across Zocdoc to rapidly gain meaningful insights from high-quality data.

You’ll enjoy this role if you are…

  • Excited about designing and building strategic data products that drive impactful outcomes across the entire organization
  • Passionate about solving complex, high-impact problems using data and analytics at scale
  • Committed to setting a high bar for technical excellence and continuously improving whatever you're working on
  • A collaborative leader who enjoys working cross-functionally in a supportive and highly cooperative environment
  • Enthusiastic about architecting scalable data solutions using cutting-edge technologies to support long-term business strategies

Your day to day is…

  • Defining and enabling trusted, strategic datasets and analytics solutions that empower data consumers to quickly and reliably gain insights at scale
  • Leading efforts to enhance self-serve analytics across the organization through advanced administration, adoption strategies, and training for analytics tools (Looker and Amplitude)
  • Partnering strategically with analysts, product managers, and product engineers to ensure the analytics infrastructure meets evolving business requirements and is robust and maintainable
  • Architecting and developing production-grade data transformations and models using SQL, DBT, and Dagster, ensuring optimal performance, maintainability, scalability, and reliability
  • Collaborating closely with data engineering on strategic infrastructure initiatives to enhance data ingestion, processing pipelines, and integration of new data sources
  • Driving the establishment and continuous improvement of standards around data governance, security, privacy, quality, and retention, influencing best practices across the organization

You’ll be successful in this role if you have…

  • 6+ years of experience as an analytics engineer, data engineer, or similar role
  • 3+ years of experience using DBT & DBT Core, with a strong understanding of data modeling and data warehousing concepts
  • Expertise in writing performant SQL, especially within cloud-based data warehouses like Snowflake, and have strong Looker developer skills, with an emphasis on LookML modeling and overall project design
  • Experience managing the administration and/or adoption of data visualization tools (e.g. Looker) and event-based analytics/user journey tools (e.g. Amplitude)
  • Ability to navigate ambiguity and work with urgency in a fast-moving environment with multiple stakeholders
