About Taskrabbit

Taskrabbit is a marketplace platform that conveniently connects people with Taskers to handle everyday home to-do’s, such as furniture assembly, handyman work, moving help, and much more.

At Taskrabbit, we want to transform lives one task at a time. As a company we celebrate innovation, inclusion and hard work. Our culture is collaborative, pragmatic, and fast-paced. We’re looking for talented, entrepreneurially minded and data-driven people who also have a passion for helping people do what they love. Together with IKEA, we’re creating more opportunities for people to earn a consistent, meaningful income on their own terms by building lasting relationships with clients in communities around the world.

Taskrabbit is a hybrid company with employees distributed across the US and EU and a Built In — Best Places to Work (2022, 2023, 2024, 2025) continually ranked across multiple national and regional categories. Join us at Taskrabbit, where your work will be meaningful, your ideas valued, and your potential unleashed!

This role operates on a hybrid schedule requiring two days of in-office collaboration per week. The position can be based in either our San Francisco office or our new New York City office (opening January 2026).

About the Job

Taskrabbit's mission is to transform lives, one task at a time. As a member of the Product Design team, you'll advance that mission through close partnership with cross-functional stakeholders to uncover problems and build solutions that reach millions of Clients and Taskers around the world.

What You’ll Do

Product Design plays a role in each phase of the product development process, from user research exploration and early concepting with PMs through prototyping, design system contributions and post-handoff engineering support. You’ll join a highly collaborative team based in the US and partner with colleagues from UX Research, Product, Data, and Engineering. Expect a high level of ownership and autonomy on assigned projects.

Responsibilities

With support from the Product Design Manager and senior designer peers:

  • Wireframe and validate design directions through sketches, Figma, and usability testing
  • Lead cross-functional workshops to define problems clearly and align on solutions
  • Deliver detail-oriented designs grounded in best practices, with rigor around copywriting, user flows, error states, edge cases, and micro-interactions
  • Build prototypes to validate assumptions and communicate interactions to stakeholders
  • Leverage AI tools to accelerate design exploration, prototyping, and iteration cycles
  • Navigate stakeholder concerns and advocate for design decisions backed by evidence, user research, and inclusive design principles
  • QA staging builds to ensure proper implementation of your designs
  • Iterate on and expand Taskrabbit design system components and patterns
  • Contribute to critiques and team feedback loops
  • Develop proficiency in AI-assisted design and data literacy to strengthen your work

Who you are

You know the difference between problems that deserve deep thinking and ideas that need fast execution. You blur role boundaries in a product org if it helps your idea come to life. Curiosity, rigor, and strong opinions shape how you work.

You have a few years of product design experience and want to deepen your skills in scoping, systems thinking, and cross-functional collaboration. You’re ready to grow alongside senior designers and your manager in a role with real ownership and impact.

Requirements

  • 1–3 years of experience in a product design role
  • Strong command of visual design principles
  • Ability to express early ideas via sketches, wireframes, or AI prototypes, and provide a narrative around why the solution satisfies business and user needs
  • Ability to produce polished design specs in Figma with appropriate annotations for engineering to build
  • Ability to contribute work that adheres to an established design system
  • Strong communication skills, including explaining design decisions and tradeoffs to various audience types
