The International Expansion team at Robinhood builds the systems and product experiences that help bring Robinhood to customers around the world. The team works across onboarding, funding, account setup, localized experiences, and the platform capabilities needed to launch and scale in new markets. In close partnership with product, design, and cross-functional teams, they focus on building reliable, scalable solutions that make global expansion faster, safer, and more seamless for customers.

We are looking for a Web Engineer to join our team. As a Web Engineer, you will lead the web development process and build products from inception to deployment. We also work closely with cross-functional teams like design, product management, and internal platforms to deliver high-impact features within multidisciplinary product teams. This individual will be helping solve challenges on, a web first, high-performance and world-class trading product centered on the web.

This role is based in our Toronto, Canada office, with in-person attendance expected at least 3 days per week.

What you’ll do

Design, build, test, and deploy scalable backend services and infrastructure across Robinhood Wallet, Tokenization, and Web3 platform systems, with correctness and auditability as hard requirements.
Build the connective tissue between traditional market infrastructure (brokerage, ledgers, corporate actions) and on-chain systems, including smart contract integrations, chain indexers, and DEX trade flows.
Develop product-facing features and platform enhancements that meet strict correctness and scalability standards.
Identify and implement improvements to system performance, engineering productivity, and risk reduction.
Collaborate closely with product, compliance, client, platform teams, and external partners to deliver impactful technical solutions.

What you bring

2+ years of experience in software development.
Expertise in backend development using languages such as Go, Python, or Java, with a solid grasp of cloud-native architectures.
Strong grasp of system design, data modeling, and software engineering fundamentals.
Care for correctness-critical systems—idempotency, reconciliation, and reasoning carefully about failure modes when money is at stake.
Strong ownership mindset, with a track record of delivering high-quality projects end to end in cross-functional environments and raising team-wide technical standards.
Proven ability to simplify complex problems, make sound tradeoffs, and drive alignment across diverse stakeholders.
Interest in blockchain fundamentals—EVM, smart contracts, wallets, on-chain settlement—or a strong appetite to go deep quickly.
