## Description (the employer's text)

At Relativity Space, we’re building rockets to serve today’s needs and tomorrow’s breakthroughs. Our Terran R vehicle will deliver customer payloads to orbit, meeting the growing demand for launch capacity. But that’s just the start. Achieving commercial success with Terran R will unlock new opportunities to advance science, exploration, and innovation, pioneering progress that reaches beyond the known.

Joining Relativity means becoming part of something where autonomy, ownership, and impact exist at every level. Here, you're not just executing tasks; you're solving problems that haven’t been solved before, helping develop a rocket, a factory, and a business from the ground up. Whether you’re in propulsion, manufacturing, software, avionics, or a corporate function, you’ll collaborate across teams, shape decisions, and see your work come to life in record time. Relativity is a place where creativity and technical rigor go hand in hand, and your voice will help define the stories we’re writing together. Now is a unique moment in time where it’s early enough to leave your mark on the product, the process, and the culture, but far enough along that Terran R is tangible and picking up momentum. The most meaningful work of your career is waiting. Join us.

About the Team:

The EHS team carries a profound responsibility to keep people and the environments where we operate safe while we build the future. We're not here to slow things down; we're here to enable safe speed. At this stage in Relativity’s trajectory, you'll have the rare opportunity to shape how EHS is embedded in every process and decision, from the factory floor to the launch pad. We have a voice at every level, and we use it to build a culture where EHS isn’t just about compliance, but rather a shared responsibility amongst all employees.

About the Role:

• Collaborate with engineering and operational teams from technician level to site leadership to provide environmental insights and support for complex processes.

• Identify hazards, perform risk assessments, and implement effective control measures to prevent spills, releases, and permit deviations.

• Implementation of site multi-disciplinary environmental programs. (ex. SPCC plan, RCRA, air monitoring, industrial wastewater, Endangered Species Act, stormwater management SDS system management, and chemical inventory tracking (EPCRA Tier II).

• Balance time between program development and in-field support, helping to build on our positive EHS culture through visibility and availability.

• Conduct in-field audits, inspections, and incident investigations using root cause investigation strategies and provide meaningful corrective action recommendations.

• Perform environmental sampling (soil, water, waste) with proper chain of custody.

• Long term this position will include coverage of vehicle processing and launch support, which covers a wide range of topics. There is an opportunity with this role to be integrated into the launch safety support team where needed.

About You

• Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Science, Environmental Engineering, Biology, Chemical Engineering, or related field (or equivalent experience).

• Minimum 3+ years of Environmental Compliance experience. Preferred experience in launch operations, aerospace manufacturing, Federal or State level compliance offices, or equivalent.

• Familiarity with RCRA, NPDES, EPCRA, Title V/ Clean Air Act permitting, SPCC, Endangered Species Act (Section 7), NEPA, Clean Water Act Section 404, DOT Hazardous Materials Regulations (49 CFR), and/or related federal environmental standards.

• Experience conducting risk assessments, hazard analysis, and incident investigations in complex technical environments.

• Experience in project management and continuous improvement strategies for various environmental programs in a high-speed technical environment.

Nice to haves, but not required

• Familiarity with FDEP and/or related state level environmental standards such as NPDES (SWPPP), wastewater management, Environmental Resource Permitting (SJRWMD), and state and federal threatened and endangered species protections.
