We are currently seeking an experienced and dedicated Band 7 Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join the team at Queensway Health Clinic on a locum basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a specialist therapist to provide high-quality, child-centred assessment and intervention for children presenting with paediatric dysphagia and feeding difficulties.

The successful candidate will have strong clinical expertise in paediatric feeding and swallowing disorders, alongside the ability to work autonomously and provide clinical leadership, supervision and guidance to junior Speech and Language Therapists and colleagues.

This role is ideal for a confident and proactive therapist who is passionate about improving outcomes for children and their families, while contributing to multidisciplinary working, service development and the delivery of evidence-based clinical care.

### Key Responsibilities

In this role, you will:

- Provide specialist, child-centred and evidence-based assessment, diagnosis and management of paediatric dysphagia and feeding difficulties.
- Develop and implement individualised intervention plans to support children's feeding, swallowing and wider clinical needs.
- Work autonomously, exercising sound clinical judgement and ensuring interventions are appropriate to each child's individual circumstances.
- Provide clinical leadership, professional supervision and guidance to junior Speech and Language Therapists and other colleagues.
- Support safeguarding, confidentiality, information governance and clinical risk management in accordance with NHS policies and procedures.
- Contribute to Special Educational Needs and Disabilities (SEND) appeals, tribunals, case planning meetings and the preparation of specialist clinical reports.
- Work collaboratively with multidisciplinary teams, families and relevant professionals to support coordinated care and positive outcomes for children.
- Contribute to service development initiatives, staff training, recruitment activities and policy reviews.
- Support effective resource management and identify opportunities to improve the quality, safety and efficiency of service delivery.
- Maintain accurate clinical records and ensure practice complies with relevant professional standards and organisational policies.
### Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

- A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy or an equivalent qualification.
- Current registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
- Significant relevant experience in paediatric Speech and Language Therapy, ideally at Band 7 level.
- Specialist clinical knowledge and experience in paediatric dysphagia and feeding difficulties.
- The ability to work independently and manage complex clinical cases effectively.
- Experience providing clinical supervision, professional guidance or leadership to colleagues.
- An understanding of safeguarding, clinical risk management, confidentiality and information governance requirements.
- Experience contributing to multidisciplinary meetings, clinical reporting and SEND processes.
- Excellent communication, organisational and interpersonal skills.
- A proactive, reflective and collaborative approach to clinical practice and service improvement.
