Principal Software Engineer — DryvIQ - C#.NET

Location: Hyderabad, India

Work model: Hybrid — 3 days per week in office

Role overview

Nasuni is expanding its engineering capability in our Hyderabad Innovation & Integration Center following the addition of DryvIQ to the Nasuni platform.

We are looking for a Principal Software Engineer to provide hands-on technical leadership for systems that discover, classify, govern, and activate enterprise unstructured data at scale. You will design and evolve distributed services across C#/.NET, Linux, Kubernetes, PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and modern data technologies while helping integrate DryvIQ capabilities into the broader Nasuni platform. You will work closely with architects, engineering leaders, product teams, and engineers globally to turn complex product requirements into scalable, reliable production systems. This is a senior individual-contributor position for an engineer who combines architecture-level thinking with deep implementation experience. It is not a people-management role or a position where architecture stops at diagrams.

Level and scope

You will provide technical direction across interconnected services and complex engineering initiatives. You will independently make high-impact architecture and engineering decisions within your domain, establish reusable technical patterns, identify and resolve systemic risks, and guide engineers through difficult design and implementation decisions. You will remain close enough to the code and production environment to validate architecture through implementation, performance analysis, troubleshooting, and technical reviews.

What you'll do

  • Lead technical design and evolution of scalable content-intelligence, metadata, classification, and governance services.
  • Architect and build distributed production services using C# and .NET.
  • Define scalable data models, access patterns, and storage strategies using PostgreSQL, ClickHouse, and other appropriate technologies.
  • Make architectural decisions involving performance, concurrency, resiliency, consistency, scalability, observability, and operational complexity.
  • Design and evolve containerized services running in Linux and Kubernetes environments.
  • Lead technically complex integration between DryvIQ capabilities and the broader Nasuni platform.
  • Identify systemic performance and reliability bottlenecks and lead engineering solutions rather than treating symptoms.
  • Establish engineering patterns and technical standards that improve maintainability, testability, observability, and developer productivity.
  • Provide technical guidance and design feedback to senior and developing engineers without relying on formal reporting authority.
  • Contribute directly to critical implementation, prototypes, code reviews, debugging, and production problem solving.
  • Partner with Product and Engineering leadership to translate product strategy into practical technical architecture and sequencing.
  • Contribute across product boundaries, including React-based experiences where appropriate.
  • Apply AI-assisted engineering workflows to architecture exploration, coding, testing, debugging, and analysis while maintaining rigorous validation, security, and engineering judgment.
  • Expected outcomes and impact

Qualifications

Must-have

  • Significant software engineering experience building and evolving complex production systems, typically gained over 10+ years.
  • Deep production expertise with C# and .NET.
  • Demonstrated architecture ownership across multiple backend services, subsystems, or major technical initiatives.
  • Strong distributed-systems fundamentals including concurrency, resiliency, consistency, APIs, asynchronous processing, and failure handling.
  • Deep database engineering experience including schema/data modeling, indexing, query optimization, storage tradeoffs, and performance analysis.
  • Strong Linux and production Kubernetes/container experience.
  • Demonstrated experience solving significant scalability, performance, or reliability problems.
  • Experience leading technical direction and influencing experienced engineers without formal management authority.
