Job Overview

Quality is Hasbro’s top priority, with a focus on building consumer trust and brand confidence by ensuring all products are safe, compliant, and reliable. Reporting to the Regulatory & Lab Management team, the QA Engineer will support the implementation of product safety, physical and mechanical, and labeling requirements across APAC as well as other key markets, including the EU and US. The role is responsible for assessing the impact of regulatory changes, updating Hasbro specifications, providing clear guidance to stakeholders and vendors, and aligning laboratory testing requirements accordingly. In addition, the QA Engineer will serve as a key technical partner to cross-functional teams, including Packaging, Product Development, Product Quality, Sourcing, Legal, as well as external vendors and third-party laboratories, to ensure regulatory compliance and product quality throughout the development process.

Location and Work Arrangement

This role is based at our Hong Kong office and follows a hybrid schedule designed to support in-person collaboration. Employees are expected to work onsite on Tuesdays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays, with the flexibility to work remotely or onsite on Mondays and Fridays.

What You'll Do

- Provide technical guidance on physical/mechanical product safety requirements and applicable toy and consumer product standards; support investigation and resolution of physical/mechanical testing and compliance questions
- Monitor the regulatory landscape on product safety and labeling requirements across APAC, EU and US, and provide timely updates to internal teams
- Assess new or revised regulatory requirements for product, labeling, testing and specification impacts; coordinate implementation plans, technical interpretations and effective-date readiness with relevant stakeholders
- Support Packaging and product teams on regional safety labeling, warnings, age grading and mandatory markings; review or coordinate resolution of label compliance questions before production release
- Draft, review and revise Hasbro specifications, policies, test requirements and technical guidance in response to regulatory changes
- Develop or coordinate product-specific and ODM testing protocols with internal teams and approved third-party laboratories
- Liaise with approved third-party laboratories to align technical interpretations, testing protocols, methods and implementation requirements; resolve differences in laboratory interpretation through documented technical assessment
- Provide timely, documented technical guidance on regulatory, physical/mechanical, testing and labeling enquiries from internal and external stakeholders
- Maintain controlled records of regulatory assessments, technical decisions and implementation status
What You'll Bring

- Bachelor or higher degree in Engineering, Applied Science, Chemistry, Materials Science or a related technical discipline
- 3 years or more relevant experience in product safety, toy testing, regulatory compliance, quality assurance or an accredited third-party laboratory
- Good working knowledge of international toy safety regulations and physical/mechanical testing standards (e.g. ASTM F963, EN 71, ISO 8124); knowledge of labeling requirements is an advantage
- Experience interpreting regulatory or standard changes and converting them into practical product, testing, specification or labeling requirements
- Experience coordinating with third-party laboratories, product development teams, vendors or manufacturing partners
- Strong technical writing, analytical, stakeholder management and problem-solving skills; attention to detail and able to work independently
