## Description (the employer's text)

### About the job

We are looking for a Technology Owner to work closely with the Software Infrastructure team, providing clear goals, determining requirements and supporting successful delivery. You will connect product intent, engineering delivery and cross-team coordination.

### The team and culture

Reporting to a Technology Manager (Product Manager), this role sits at the intersection of product delivery and engineering execution and would benefit from knowledge of software infrastructure design and support. You will help translate roadmap priorities and feature requirements into clear, actionable work for the Software Infrastructure teams, while coordinating closely with other Technology Owners (Technical Product Owners), engineering teams, and technical leads across the wider software organisation. The role requires strong organisational skills alongside sufficient technical understanding to engage effectively with engineers and help guide backlog refinement, dependency management, and delivery planning with either feature validation or Infrastructure delivery and support.

You will work with the Software Infrastructure team, an expanding 30-person team, who provide and lead the platforms and services used by the wider Software organisation to build, test and develop Graphcore software. This requires a broad knowledge of the products we provide and how we can optimise and scale these systems as the company grows. The Software Infrastructure team aligns with the ML stack software team processes planning in increments but works with several other areas within Graphcore too.

As a Technology Owner you will help coordinate and prioritise work for the multiple sub-teams within Software Infrastructure, ensuring they have clear direction, well-defined deliverables, and alignment with wider software roadmap objectives.

### Responsibilities and Duties

Own and Shape the Component Backlog

- Create and maintain team roadmaps for the Program Increment (PI) and long-term plan to help visualise the current backlog and communicate status and progress to all stakeholders.
- Translate feature-level intent into actionable Software Infrastructure work and feedback team intent and challenges to help shape the features with the Technology Manager.
- Maintain a clear, prioritised backlog of Epics and Stories for the teams.
- Ensure all work is clearly linked to higher-level product outcomes.
- Work with engineers and technical leads to refine acceptance criteria, scope, and delivery expectations.
Support Delivery Across Sprints and Planning Increments

- Actively support sprint planning, reviews, demos, providing visual outputs that demonstrate progress against the plan, findings, and changes.
- Involve the team in the right discussions to ensure desired outcomes are realistic, and the team’s ability to deliver them are clearly communicated.
- Ensure the backlog is sufficiently maintained to prepare for PI planning, identifying dependencies and risks early and aligning with other teams on the scope taken into planning.
- Work to align PI Objectives and the team backlog, either inspiring change into the PI objectives, where they can’t be achieved, or ensuring the team backlog reflects the what and the why clearly to ensure the right work is scoped.
Coordinate Across Teams

- Work closely with Technology Owners, Technology Managers, engineering teams, and Technical Leads to handle dependencies and alignment.
- Coordinate feature planning with teams working across ML frameworks, runtime systems, performance tooling, distributed execution, and infrastructure.
- Facilitate communication between teams to identify risks, blockers, and changing priorities.
Enable Effective Technical Collaboration

- Develop sufficient technical understanding of the different software stacks and products to engage effectively with engineers and stakeholders.
- Support constructive technical discussions while balancing delivery priorities and quality expectations.
- Help remove organisational blockers and improve coordination across teams and stakeholders.
