Help us build a high-energy society by making the cleanest, safest form of baseload energy the most affordable. ### About This Role We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to keep General Matter’s facilities clean, organized, safe, and fully operational throughout the workday. Working Monday through Friday during daytime hours and reporting to the Facilities & Construction Project Manager, you will perform routine janitorial duties, monitor facility conditions, assist with basic maintenance tasks, and make sure facility concerns are communicated and resolved promptly. The ideal candidate is dependable, detail-oriented, and proactive, takes pride in maintaining a clean, safe, and professional work environment, and is comfortable working independently and responding to changing facility needs throughout the day. Success looks like facilities that stay clean and presentable, supplies that are always stocked, minor upkeep handled quickly, and issues flagged before they become larger problems, so the Facilities & Construction Project Manager can focus on larger projects and operational improvements. ### Responsibilities Daily Cleaning & Janitorial Services - Clean and maintain offices, common areas, hallways, break rooms, restrooms, and other designated spaces - Sweep, mop, vacuum, and maintain floors and other surfaces; clean interior glass, doors, and windows as needed - Clean and sanitize restrooms, kitchens, break areas, counters, sinks, and frequently touched surfaces - Empty trash and recycling bins and transport waste to designated collection areas - Replenish restroom supplies, paper products, soap, and other cleaning materials - Respond promptly to spills, messes, and unexpected cleaning needs, and perform routine deep-cleaning tasks according to established schedules Facility Upkeep & Basic Maintenance - Conduct routine walkthroughs to identify cleanliness issues, damaged fixtures, leaks, lighting problems, and other facility concerns - Perform basic maintenance tasks and minor repairs, such as replacing light bulbs, tightening loose hardware, and assembling furniture, within your training, authorization, and qualifications - Report plumbing, electrical, HVAC, structural, safety, and equipment issues to the Facilities & Construction Project Manager - Help maintain organized storage areas, supply rooms, janitorial closets, and workspaces - Assist with moving furniture, setting up rooms, and preparing spaces for meetings and company events - Keep entrances, walkways, and common areas clean, clear, and safe Daily Facility Support - Follow a consistent daily cleaning and facility upkeep checklist, and document completed tasks - Respond to cleaning and upkeep requests assigned by the Facilities & Construction Project Manager, and report completed work and outstanding issues through the company’s designated communication or work order system - Assist with routine facility inspections and support preparation for visitors, meetings, and inspections --- Data: alder (https://alderhq.app).
