We bring together multidisciplined experts across the land development, energy, and infrastructure markets to take on bigger challenges and deliver solutions that make a real difference. Our teams combine creativity, technical excellence, and a collaborative, hands-on approach to solve complex problems and deliver results our clients and communities can count on. We take pride in our work and our ability to provide opportunities for our teams, support each other’s growth, and look ahead to what’s next. When you join AKS, you will find opportunities to take ownership of meaningful projects, learn, lead, and make an impact from day one.

We are looking for an Electrical Engineer with strong electrical systems experience to support utility-scale renewable projects including solar, BESS, and wind. In this role, you'll lead onsite oversight of LV/MV/HV electrical systems, inverters, and BESS electrical installation, ensure work aligns with plans and specifications, support QA/QC efforts, and help keep construction activities safe, efficient, and on schedule. You'll coordinate with EPC partners, OEMs, and subcontractors, support inspections and site walks, resolve field issues, and maintain clear documentation while serving as EPS's onsite representative.

What You’ll Do

  • Leading day-to-day onsite oversight of the installation of LV, MV, and HV electrical systems, inverters, and BESS on utility-scale renewable energy projects.
  • Overseeing coordination of cable pulling, terminations, and testing to ensure work is completed safely and according to project specifications.
  • Ensuring electrical QA/QC and energization readiness throughout the installation process.
  • Interfacing with OEMs and commissioning teams to coordinate installation requirements, resolve technical issues, and support system energization and startup activities.
  • Managing electrical NCRs and corrective actions, including root cause analysis and resolution tracking.
  • Tracking testing and turnover documentation throughout the project lifecycle to support mechanical completion, energization, and closeout.
  • Ensuring compliance with project specifications, NEC requirements, and industry standards.
  • Conducting regular site walks to monitor installation progress, identify potential issues, and help keep projects on schedule.
  • Reviewing work plans, construction methods, safety procedures, and schedules for electrical and general construction activities.
  • Supporting inspections, punch walks, permit closeouts, and compliance activities.
  • Maintaining accurate project documentation related to site conditions, inspections, field decisions, and project progress.
  • Serving as EPS's onsite representative while building strong working relationships with clients, utilities, AHJs, EPCs, contractors, and community stakeholders.

Who You Are

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering preferred.
  • Experienced construction professional with an electrical engineering background and familiarity with solar, BESS, or wind projects.
  • Skilled at coordinating multiple trades and managing electrical scopes including LV/MV/HV systems, cable installation, and energization in a fast-paced field environment.
  • You have a "Do what needs to be done" mindset, taking ownership beyond assigned tasks and stepping in wherever needed to keep projects, teams, and customers supported and running smoothly.
  • Strong communicator who builds trust with EPC partners, OEMs, utilities, and internal teams.
  • Excellent at documenting meetings, decisions, and site changes.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office, Bluebeam, Adobe, and construction scheduling tools.
  • Able to pass a background check, motor vehicle screening, and pre-employment drug test.
  • Safety trained for field work (OSHA 10).
  • Willing and able to travel to project sites across the United States.

Nice to Have

  • EIT or PE licensure.
  • Experience with utility-scale solar, BESS, or wind construction.
  • Direct experience with LV/MV/HV electrical systems, cable terminations, and energization activities.
