Help us build Dedale in Toronto

Dedale is preparing to open its Toronto office, and we are building a pipeline of analysts for the team's upcoming openings. If you join, you will help build the office from the start. You will work on the questions private equity and growth investors ask before they back a software company: is the market real, do customers value the product, and can this business win? Your work feeds directly into multi-million-dollar investment decisions.

About Dedale

Dedale is a strategic intelligence firm focused on technology. Our team of more than 100 full-time research analysts and planners draws on a network of over 10,000 market professionals to deliver on-the-ground intelligence to investors and corporates, with a core focus on North America and Europe. Our Research & Investment team specializes in B2B software due diligence.

Our leadership team combines experienced investment professionals and former management consultants (including ex-McKinsey and BCG project leaders and managers). Our advisory board includes managing partners of some of the largest private equity and growth equity funds, as well as founders of tech unicorns. Our people come from many countries and backgrounds.

What you will do

Conduct deep fundamental research on public and private software and technology companies: market, competitive position, customers, business model and financials.

Perform strategic due diligence and financial analysis, combining quantitative modelling with qualitative insight.

Lead interviews in English with industry experts (customers, competitors, former executives) and turn them into clear findings.

Produce high-quality deliverables that support investment decisions: financial research and analysis, strategic screenings and client communication materials.

Present your findings to the team and to clients.

Monitor covered companies daily and flag what changes.

Screen new companies and help improve how the team works.

You will work alongside strong peers and former Tier-1 management consultants, and take on more responsibility as you grow.

What you bring

A bachelor's or master's degree in Commerce, Business, Finance, Economics, Engineering or a related field, with strong academic results.

1 to 2 years of relevant experience in strategy, finance or business, which can include internships or co-op terms in investment banking, equity research, private equity or venture capital, transaction advisory, consulting, corporate development or a tech company.

Excellent analytical and Excel skills.

Strategic thinking: you know where to find the inputs that matter and how to connect them.

Excellent written and spoken English. French is a strong asset; German or Italian is a plus.

Nice to have: a genuine interest in technology, innovation and investing, and the ability to do your best work both in a team and on your own.

What we offer

A ground-floor role in a new office, with visible impact from day one.

Direct exposure to private equity and growth investors and to Dedale's senior leadership.

A clear career path: Analyst, Associate, Senior Associate, Associate Manager, Manager.

Training and mentoring from former Tier-1 consultants and investment professionals.

A competitive benefits package for our Canadian team. We are finalizing it as we set up the Toronto office and will share full details with candidates during the process.
