About Coframe

At Coframe, we are building a future where user and agent interfaces can adapt, evolve, and personalize themselves. We are generating revenue, growing rapidly, and trusted by companies you definitely know.

Coframe is a primarily in-person company based in San Francisco, well-capitalized with backing from Khosla Ventures, Nat Friedman, the founder of Android, and others. Our team is small and talent-dense, consisting of competitive programmers, former founders (including our founder who previously co-founded a unicorn), and AI researchers from top institutions who have created some of the most popular open-source code generation projects.

About the role

We’re looking for a hands-on Accountant to keep our books accurate, our payments and invoices on track, and our monthly close organized as Coframe scales.

You’ll manage daily accounting work, prepare reconciliations and journal entries, and help turn financial activity into reliable reporting. You’ll work closely with our finance and operations team and external accounting and tax partners, with clear ownership of your work and opportunities to improve how it gets done. This is an individual contributor role for someone who enjoys getting into the details, resolving discrepancies, and following work through to completion. You should be comfortable moving between recurring accounting tasks and new challenges in a growing company.

What you’ll do

Keep the books accurate. Maintain the general ledger, record transactions, and reconcile bank accounts, corporate cards, and assigned balance sheet accounts.

Execute month-end close work. Prepare journal entries, accruals, prepaid expense schedules, and supporting documentation. Investigate discrepancies and complete assigned close tasks on time.

Manage accounts payable and expenses. Process vendor invoices, verify coding and approvals, coordinate payments, and review employee expenses and reimbursements.

Handle customer billing and collections. Prepare invoices based on contract terms, apply payments, maintain receivables records, and follow up on overdue balances with the appropriate internal teams.

Support payroll and equity accounting. Reconcile payroll activity, record related entries, and maintain schedules and documentation for stock-based compensation in partnership with internal owners and external advisors.

Prepare reporting and compliance support. Maintain financial schedules and help prepare monthly financial statements. Gather records for audits, tax filings, and other requests from external partners.

Improve accounting workflows. Document recurring processes, keep close checklists current, and identify ways to reduce manual work while maintaining accuracy and appropriate approvals.

You may be a fit if you

2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, including hands-on experience with monthly close, journal entries, and account reconciliations.

A bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field, and a CPA qualification.

Working knowledge of U.S. GAAP and the ability to apply accounting fundamentals to daily transactions.

Experience with accounting software and strong Excel or Google Sheets skills.

Careful attention to detail, organized documentation, and the ability to investigate and resolve discrepancies.

Clear communication and consistent follow-through with colleagues, customers, vendors, and external advisors.

Comfort taking responsibility for recurring work, asking questions when needed, and adapting as priorities change.

Ability to work from our San Francisco office five days per week.

Nice to have

Accounting experience at a startup, technology company, or SaaS business.

Experience with subscription billing, deferred revenue, or revenue recognition.

Experience supporting audits, payroll accounting, or stock-based compensation.
