## Description (the employer's text)

We're building robots, live spatial intelligence, and AI experiences that need to feel just as solid in someone's hand as they do in the field. We're looking for an Android Developer who cares as much about how an app feels to use as how well it holds up under real-world conditions.

### What we're looking for, and why

We need someone who knows the Android platform inside and out and has a real track record of shipping polished, reliable apps, not just prototypes. As our products move from idea to things people actually use every day, we need someone who can own that experience end to end.

### What you'll be working on

Designing, building, and maintaining Android applications across a range of devices

Working closely with product managers, designers, and backend developers to define and ship new features

Keeping performance, quality, and responsiveness high across the board

Finding and fixing bugs, performance issues, and other app problems before they become real ones

Optimizing for speed and scalability

Bringing in new tools and technologies when they genuinely make development better

Helping shape the architecture of new features and services, not just implementing them

Writing clean, maintainable, efficient code

Taking part in code reviews and helping raise the bar for the whole team

### What makes this role different

Engineering here is flat: no layers between you and the decision, no waiting on a chain of approvals to ship something good. You'll work in person in Abu Dhabi, alongside a small, genuinely international team, often a short walk from robots that are actually deployed and being tested. What you build will be felt immediately, by real users, on real products.

### Skills we need

A bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience

Proven Android development experience with real apps live on the Google Play Store

Strong Kotlin and/or Java

Deep familiarity with Android SDK, Android Studio, and the platform itself

Comfort working with RESTful APIs to connect apps to backend services

Experience integrating third-party libraries and APIs

A solid sense of UI/UX and Android's own design guidelines

Strong debugging and troubleshooting instincts

Git and modern version control workflows

Experience with testing frameworks like Espresso or JUnit

Comfort working in an Agile environment

### What we're not looking for

This isn't a role for someone who wants a spec handed to them and nothing more, or who'd rather manage the work than build it. If you need a lot of process and structure to do your best work, or you're looking for a remote 9-to-5, this probably isn't the fit.
