Aescape is looking for a Procurement Specialist who can own procurement activities across 2 programs, 12 product lines and 400+ components, managing relationships with over 30 global suppliers and Tier-1 manufacturing partners. Your responsibilities will span supplier sourcing and onboarding, PO management, maintaining supplier relationships, resolving delivery and shortage issues, and owning clear-to-build readiness for new product introductions. You'll help drive KPIs related to vendor negotiations, cost reductions and inventory management, with an opportunity to grow into demand planning as the role develops. You will also help support strategic initiatives around Aescape's supply chain and manufacturing footprint.

This is a hands-on position that requires a strong analytical and practical background working with mechatronic systems. We're looking for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent communication skills, and a technical understanding of the components you will be tasked with sourcing (machined parts, injection molding, PCBAs, linear motion systems, and more). The successful candidate must be process oriented, data-driven, and have prior experience working in a production setting.

This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys cross-functional collaboration, and wants to grow within a hardware startup where operations, engineering, and manufacturing are tightly linked. If this sounds like you, we’d love to hear from you!

This role is remote in Philadelphia with expected travels to our office in NYC once a month

What You’ll Do

Procurement & Vendor Management

Own purchase order issuance and management for finished goods, spare parts, tooling, select raw materials and other direct spend categories to meet production schedules

Foster and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and contract manufacturers

Identify supplier risk and drive resolution of shortages, delivery issues, invoice discrepancies, and supplier non-conformances

Collaborate cross-functionally with engineering, quality, finance, and product teams

Support supplier vetting and onboarding, including commercial and technical evaluation of new suppliers ahead of PO issuance, as well as qualification of alternate or second-source suppliers

Cost Analysis & Negotiation

Maintain accuracy of pricing, lead times, and terms across 2 programs, 12 product lines, 30+ suppliers and 400+ components

Create and execute RFQs, spot buys, and cost-reduction initiatives across key commodity types

Suggest negotiation tactics and quote analyses to support make/buy decisions and set purchase agreements

Drive cost-down opportunities through negotiation, alternate sourcing and spec alignment with cross functional teams

Track and report BOM costs across all product lines

New Product Introduction (NPI)

Drive sourcing of parts for new products in partnership with engineering and product teams and 3rd party manufacturers

Own clear-to-build material readiness processes for prototype and production builds to support overall NPI program management

Plan for phase-in and phase-out of components while maintaining sufficient material days on hand

Track long-lead and critical-path components while mitigating risk to maintain 100% line-up status
